Eight Principles of Making Money Online







INTRODUCTION
Every trade has its rules. When you apply those rules you become successful in
that trade but if you ignore the rules, you become unsuccessful in the trade.
Success is a brother, a sister, a friend and a magnet. Everyone wants to be
successful and everyone should be successful but not everyone is successful or
may be successful. Success itself does not discriminate against anyone. It does not
care whether you are black, red or white; neither does it matter to it whether you
were born with silver spoon in your hand or born with rags around your waist.
Furthermore, success is a result, i.e., you put in certain things into life, and boom,
success emerges! It is like 1+2 = 3. Hence, success is a leveler, it is constant and
guaranteed. Whoever you are and wherever you live in this world, if you add 1 to
2 you will obtain 3 as a result. Therefore, if you apply the principles that I have
discussed in this e-book wholeheartedly and religiously, you will have success no
matter who you are or where you come from.

PRINCIPLE 1: BE A SOLUTION PROVIDER
Everyone that lives on the earth has challenges that need solutions that may be
within or outside his or her reach. From the beginning of life, even as a foetus, a
human being begins to experience problems in the womb. Unless the foetus is
helped, he or she may not survive the stages of development to becoming a child.
Hence, everyone needs help and the person who provides the help or solution to
the problem of others is highly regarded and sought after.

In order to be successful (make money) in your online business, you must find out
what problems people have and then you must provide solutions to the problems
based on your capacity. The truth is that, every second or minute, someone is on
the internet trying to find solutions to his or her problems and your ability to
provide solutions to the problems of such people is what makes you money.
Besides, people are willing to let go of their hard earned money to find solutions
to their problems. For instance, people who suffer from diseases such as cancer,
diabetes, erectile dysfunction, malaria, asthma etc and those who seek solutions
to love and other emotional problems would willingly give you their money if you
give them the right solutions. This is where the money or success is, my friend.

PRINCIPLE 2: DONOT FOCUS ON MAKING MONEY
I have found out that people do not want to give you money if you show to them
that you desperately need money. For example, banks make you believe that they
do not want your money; instead they want to help you with (your) money.
Hence, they brandish all sorts of credit facilities and investment packages before
you. The next thing is that people troop into their banks to give them money. If
they told you that the banks needed your money to pay fat salaries and
allowances to their staff or that their boards and shareholders are terribly in need
of your money to survive, you will certainly tell them to look elsewhere for
money.

Looking at it from another angle; it is not in your best interest to focus on making
money as your first priority. The reason for this is that prioritizing making money
above anything else would becloud your vision, distort your right sense of
reasoning and make you not to adhere to the ethics of your business or
profession. Remember that in principle 1 of this book, we discussed that providing
the right solutions to the right problems is a sure money spinner. So, let your
number one priority be problem solving. Money or success locates those who
provide solutions to problems. Q.E.D!

PRINCIPLE 3: RESEARCH YOUR INFORMATION THOROUGHLY
It is one thing to have information; it is another thing entirely for that information
to be factual, instructive and reliable. As an online marketer, you trade on
information products including e-books, articles, newsletters, videos, audios and
other presentations.

Information could be in-sourced (from your experience and technical knowhow)
or outsourced (from other sources of information). Hence, to make your
information products to be rich in facts, you should not only rely on your
knowledge and skills, but make reference to other products online or offline.
Using search engines such as google, bing etc, you can have access to unlimited
free information products. However, certain information can only be found in
products that are sold. Hence, you need to buy some materials and use them to
enrich your information products.


PRINCIPLE 4: BE APT – RESPOND TIMELY TO YOUR CLIENTS OR POTENCIAL CLIENTS
If someone purchases your product online or makes enquiries or complaints
about your product, a message will be sent to you through the email
address/account you provided. It is up to you to ensure that every email is
responded to in a timely manner. In other words, you are going to send a link to
your product or email/ship the product to the client after every purchase
according to the timelines you have provided in your terms. Besides, you are
going to deal with complaints and issues of refund and so on quickly before it gets
out of hands. To do the above successfully, you must check your email and visit
your website, blog or social network sites regularly. You must check your email at
least once a day and as your volume of emails increases, the frequency must
increase as well. Visit and update the information on your website, blog and social
network sites at least once a day or as the volume of visits by clients/potential
clients to your sites may demand.A key strategy to achieving the above principle is to have access to an internet enabled mobile phone besides a laptop or desktop computer.

PRINCIPLE 5: BE HARD WORKING
It is a well known fact that hard work pays. It pays to wake up early to get things
done, monitor the progress of your work at noon and review the results of your
work in the evening before going to bed. A hard working person is a diligent
person, and success always locates hard working people no matter how long it
takes. I have come to know that life is not cruel to anyone. It is people and/or situations (created by people and our environment) around us that are sometimes cruel but life itself does not have cruelty and hence it cannot dish out cruelty to anyone. You know as well as I do that it is what we sow that we reap. Therefore, it is what we give to life that it gives back to us.

I have also come to know that money does not discriminate between the black
and the white, African or European, Mexican or Indian. Neither does money care
about your parental background (rich or poor, educated or illiterate) nor does it
bother if you are young or old, handsome or not so beautiful. Money does not
miss road, instead it finds its way to the house or bank account of the diligent
hard working person who knows what to do to make money and does it.
I must state categorically here that I HAVE NOT IN ANY PART OF THIS EBOOK
MENTIONED OR IMPLIED THAT BEING FRUADULENT TO MAKE MONEY IS OK. What I have said and implied, however, is that everyone has equal access to
money as long as the person recognizes the opportunities to make money and
does what is legitimately required to make the money.
The importance of this “hard work” principle for an online marketer who wants to
succeed is that we must be weary of those numerous adverts online that promise
instant wealth and money making strategies or so that are too good to be true. It
also implies that we need to give our online businesses adequate time daily – a
minimum of 30 minutes daily – is ok.

PRINCIPLE 6: BE TRUTHFUL, TRUSTWORTHY AND TRANSPARENT
It is in the interest of the online marketer who sells products and services online
to be honest. All the best selling brands in the world such as Microsoft, Toyota,
Dell and others have proven over time that they are trustworthy, hence, the
massive success they have recorded. It is a known fact that any business (physical
or online) that is established on global best practices and ethics will certainly
succeed.

As an online trader, your number one success factor is trust. You have to establish
that trust in your clients and potential clients. Online marketing of products and
services has a major drawback and that is the fact that people are generally
unwilling to part with their hard earned money to the person that is not physically
present. The internet is filled with fraudulent persons who are out to rip people
off of their money. As a result of this uncertainty in internet market, some third
party online payment platforms such as PayPal, Google and Click Bank restrict the
transactions that could be performed by citizens and residents of certain

Despite the huge risks involved in online businesses, the online market is still one
of the most successful and financial rewarding market today. It remains one of the easiest ways to buy and sell products across international borders today.
Hence, investing in online business is viable and a wise decision to make even if
you are from certain parts of Africa and other continents where there are some
restrictions in terms of payment options that are available to you.
In order to increase the confidence of potential clients in your online business,
you should take the following steps:
· Add human face to your business by putting your true picture on the
website or product. This will make them know that you are an existing
person and not a robot
· Be traceable. Put the physical address, email and telephone of your
business in the contact details on your website and your products
· Deliver the purchased item to your clients by the means that you stated on
your advert or as it is in the forms that the clients filled to purchase the
item. Adhere to the time and means of transportation (online or shipping)
· Make sure that the product delivered to the client is as stated in your
advert. Do not lower the standard
· Partner with popular online trading giants such as Jumia Konga, Kaymu,
OLX, EBay etc. This can work as a magic wand as the trust reposed on those
marketing giants will be transferred to you.

PRINCIPLE 7: BE POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL
The popular saying that customer is king is as true now as it was several centuries
ago. You just cannot take this principle out of your online business if you really
want to make money. Treat all clients equally, professionally and politely.
Create platforms for your clients and potential clients to reach you. These include:
Email, telephone, online enquiry forms and live chat. When speaking on phone or
chatting with your client, introduce yourself first, ask the person’s name and find
out how you may assist or help the person. Be sure to listen to your client and
understand exactly what she/he wants so that you can offer the appropriate
solutions to the problems or challenges of the person. Remember, ‘I am sorry’ and ‘thank you’ are two magic phrases that you cannot expend enough

PRINCIPLE 8: BUILD YOUR CLIENTELE
Use email builders or extractors to get the email contacts of the visitors to your
website, blog or social network sites. This is an effective way to have a list of
persons that you can sell your products to in the future. Many website hosting
sites have the facilities for this.
