MARKETING: For Profit or not for Profit

Marketing is the act of selling products and/or services that may or not be yours. A key aspect of marketing is advertising, which could be done by corporate bodies or individuals (skilled or unskilled). Advertising may be done intentionally (planned or strategically) or unintentionally (unknown to the advertiser). Advertising can be done using various media including bill boards, fliers, hand bills, posters, banners, electronic media, print media, social media (Facebook, twitter, instagram, Google, Whatsapp, etc), humans (wears, talking etc) and so on.

Marketing is as important to manufacturers and service providers as advertising is important to marketing. In fact, no company can survive without marketing/advertising. As a result of the extreme importance of marketing/advertising, companies spend huge portions of their budget on advertising, and in most cases, this huge money is paid to corporate advertising agencies, media organizations or sometimes to affiliates (this is less common method of advertising). One major missing link, however, is that most companies do not financially reward the individual consumers who do most of the advertising of the products/services for the companies.

Consumers are the most important advertising agents. They do it most times unintentionally through the way they use products/services and tell others about the benefits of using the products/services. Consumers wear product/company logo/t-shirts, fez caps, paste product/company stickers on their cars, houses etc and brandish products (e.g shoes, phones) as well as encourage others to buy the products without any financial reward from the manufacturers. Instead, all the money for advertising goes to marketing companies who do much less advertising than the consumers. This is an unfair deal and constitutes a 21st century injustice that must be addressed.

Would it not be a great thing to earn income from your advertising efforts? Certainly, yes. The sad news is that most companies will not pay the consumers. The consumers will continue to pay the cost of product manufacturing, plus the profits for the importers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers as well as pay the advertising costs to big advertising agents. When, in fact, the consumers will keep doing most of the advertising for all the chains of profiteers listed above.

There is good news, however, for all consumers. The good news is that some manufacturing companies now transfer a large percentage (up to 71%) of their profit to the consumers whom they have acknowledged as the most important advertising agents. These companies have cut the long product marketing chain by removing the middle profiteers in order to deal directly and enrich the consumers. The companies achieve this through network marketing.

Network marketing is the system of marketing that recognizes the traditional advertising role that consumers play in product marketing and rewards the consumers adequately, thus; empowering the consumers to do more. You will agree with me that network marketing is a system that promotes fair deal: putting the rewards where it should be.
